Hugs and Tears and Parents Fears.

In Britain on the first of September[1939]hugs and tears were sherd as children everywere move to the countryside.

It was the day of evacuation.

Children have been evacuated by cars, trains, and boats and over 2500 children have been evacuated so far.

If children are under 3yrs old they are evacuated with their mum or teachers.

Most parents are sending their children on a train to the countryside.

Parents are telling their children that they are going on holiday and to take their gas mask with them at all times.

Also adults have to carry or wear their gas mask to avoid gas.

The goverment is calling it operation pied piper instead of evacuation.

The parents are being told to look away as the children leave the station to stop them from crying.

Dont worry every bodys going to be told what there doing as soon as possible.

CHILDREN SENT TO THE COUNTRY SIDE

On the first of January 1939 all of the children in the city are being evacuated due to heavy bombing.
The evacution of these children is called Operation Pied Piper. The people that are being evacuted are mostly children and teachers but some mothers and disabled people will be evacuted as well.

Michel Clark (10 year old boy who is being evacuted) had a interview with us and he said he is so upset because he had to leave his mum but his mum said it was for the best.

The government is introducing rationing books because are Low.

In the next few weeks you will receive a rationing book.

In this book it will contain coupons for milk,eggs,bacon,ham and cheese.

you can only bye certain amount of Food as Hitler is bombing all ports.

We have spoken to people and this is what they have said.

"we have to grow are own food" it is very hard trying to ration there is not enough nutrition fore the babies in Britain. when you have brought everything the shop keeper will Singh the coupon. Don't wory about it there is goining to be posters and noteices and it will be on the wireless all around britain to imform you that every thing is goining to be ok.

GOVERNMENT NEED WOMEN

The government are currently trying to persuade
more women to work as the war is getting worse these factorys need to fill up as soon as posible because eventually the war will get worse.The main cities that the ladies need to work in London,Exeter,Liverpool and many other.

Posters have been put up in major cities to persuade our women to work in land armys factorys and many more jobs,this major situation has been going on for many weeks and the government is getting worried as them might lose the war. Local factory worker Alison form kent said"Iknow it for the best and every think but im still aboustly devestated that we have to work every day untill the war ends".

The government is still currently wating for more women to reply for

jobs. As more men have been sent off to fight.

Womens War Too!

As the day rose the hard working women set out for a difficult day of work.

Yesterday ,the British Prime Minister told British public on radio that women have to join the work force in order to keep Britain running .Women will be taking the place of British men while they are fighting to save the country.British women will be working as ambulance drivers , ship builders , mechanics, tank drivers, air raid wardens, engineers, plumbers,farmers and fire engine drivers.

Sarah Macmillan, a women worker ,gave an interview yesterday to the British radio. She said "I love doing my job and helping my country through this hard time." She also said that " I am not saying that its really easy I also have to raise my children as well as my work so its quite hard."

Also the Prime Minister said that women had to work until the war finishes. For this decision many woman got angry and wasn't pleased with their Prime Minister. They say that it's really unfair when some have more than three kids to look after.

BRIT'S ARE BLITZED!!

Last night at 7pm the Germans started bombing raids all over the country. They have targeted ports, factories and cities. The Germans are calling this barbaric bombing ' blitzkrieg '.

Just when we thought the war wasn't doing to badly, Hitler and his Nazis have ordered all German men over eighteen to work in the German air force, bombing Britain, targeting everything and sparing no-one. We got to talk to eyewitness Polly Parson , who watched the bombing come down on her neighbour's house,

" I was so frightened, I didn't even know what the bombs were at first. They just came down from the sky, like solid rain. It was extremely scary as I saw a bomb go off about twenty feet away, and my neighbour's house went up in flames."
It has been decided by the government that every home shall be supplied with kits for Anderson Shelters, which will help them hide from the bombing. These kits include corregated iron, poles and nails to hold up the structure.

It has been advised that every household should take their children, with food and blankets to their shelters, regardless of if there is bombing or not. So far twelve people have been killed and 49 injured; " It is devasting that the Germans are going ahead with such a dastardly plan but ther is nothing we can do but keep fighting", said the Prime Minister.

And he was right!

In the end there can only be one winner, and that is GREAT BRITAIN!

More Men Needed

MORE MEN NEEDED!

The government has called for an emergency recruitment of men to join the army,as a sudden fall in volunteers has happened.

A spokesperson for the government was heard on the radio,yesterday ,pleading for men to sign up.

"Although we have 875,000 men it is not enough to defeat Germany.and stop them from taking over the other countries".

A huge recruitment office is being set up in town halls all across the country to recruit more soldiers.

"We urge every boy and men,as young as 14 to come to the town hall tomorrow and sign up.your country needs you".

We will pick anybody the age of 14.Here is a boy who got pick for the army he is called james he says"i was picked for the army and i am really scared,I wish i never got picked for the war it is a life risk and i could die in this situation.My family are so angry at me for joining the army and it isn't my fault".

Its only just begun!

German bombers have started to rome Britain and bombing major cities. The bombing started at 4:56 pm. Adolf Hitler believes that by bombing us we will surrender... But he is wrong!

Julie Roberts said that "this is the most frightening thing that's ever happened to me , but I no there is worst to come. My house was bombed but lucky enough i was in my Anderson shelter." "When that night of bombing ended my next door neighbours were rushed to hospital because a bomb landed right on there house .A few days before they had a baby,two days after they were rushed to hospital because they passed out."

Nevile Chamberlain is trying to get parents to evacuate their children immediately to save alot of lives. His target is to save 3,000 lives that's as big as 7 transport ships. Already people are complaining because they want their children to be evacuated as soon as possible.

The bombings started again today at 5:00pm. When the siren went off everybody was just running around. We are getting information from our sources and people are running people over,people are walking off bridges and driving off cliffs. This has happened because everyone is being blacked out.

The R.A.F are trying to plot an attack on Berlin to fight back and not be the country that looks like we are weak!

Heading to the Countryside

Yesterday, thousands of children surged towards Paddington station as they awaited their train to safety. As the Goverment commanded the children had to go to the Countryside to keep safe from the horrendous bombing and to receive a good education.

Lots of children were very frightened to leave their families. We interviewed a girl who has been through a dreadful time, she escaped from her house as it was getting bombed! Her name is Rose.

Rose had been sitting in a Anderson shelter playing around when she heard a crash, she looked outside and saw her house and realised that her mother was still in the house she was very sad because the loss of her mother!

"I can't believe my mum has been killed during this war and now I have to leave my Grandma. I am not looking forward to living in the countryside."

We hope the evacuees stay safe and have a happy life in the future.

The evacuees will return to us as healthy as a well tall growing tree.

Rules On Rationing

Today on 17th september , rationing is being introduced due to all the heavy bombs being dropped on shops , markets and ports.

Well in the shops in London we can only have 1 food token per family, also we can only go into one shop , we have a book called a rationing coupon with the tokens inside.

Rationing has caused alot of trouble in London , and has not given enough people the amount of food they need. People in large families only get given what two people would only get given a week! , large families should be given the amount of food they need a week.

It has been announced that Neville Chamberline cannot do anything about it as rationing will have to be in place untill further notice.

Neville Chamberline ( The Prime Minister ) has a big concern with rationing and he wants rationing to stay on because their is not enough food or clothes in Britain. Ports are not being bombed as much as they was so rationing might stop soon.

Reece and Josh think differntly we think rationing is going to go on untill the war is over , because food isnt the only thing rationed it is clothes as well and Americans are rationing aswell.

COUNTRYSIDE CRISIS !!!!!!!

The government are encouraging families to have thier children evacuated to the countryside in order to keep them safe. The children were evacated at 1:00pm yesterday.

A young girl called Samantha, an evacuee herself, has told us that she was frightened like a mouse chasing a cat. The things she eye witnessed were the fears in the parents eyes of them leaving their childern waving goodbye, some crying some happy.

Half of the children came back , because Germany didn't start bombing Britain, the other half have decided to stay,because they didn't want their parents to worry about them.

IS FOOD COMING TO AN END ....?

More rationing tokens are being released!!!

Today rationing has got even worse in Britain that food stores and clothing stores are going out of bussiness, but there is also good news more rationing tokens are being released on the 6th October.

As the food stores go out of bussiness more rationing tokens are released. We interviewed Tina Grey a mother with 4 children who also runs a food store on her own with 4 children , but on the other side Tina is very happy she said,

" We are very greatful for more rationing tokens as my children can receive more food."

Tina Grey is also greatful for more clothing tokens as she can buy her children more clothes she said,

" I am very cheerful that i can buy more clothes for my children and myself,right now my children have 2 sets of clothes each and they are being past down from my oldest to the youngest."

Tina's store is now full of people again she thanks the government and is thinking of opening a clothing store even though she doesn't have a lot of money she said

" Im thinking about opening another store even though I don't have enough money,but on the other side if I open a clothing store I'm going to get more money."

WOMEN LEFT BEHIND,DAY AND NIGHT!

GOVERNMENT FORCE STRONG WOMEN TO WORK AS ONE

7,000 women have been requested by the Government to leave thier homes immediatly to set off to work, as our men fight for our country during this time, women are needed in order to keep the British trade industry running.

Yesterday Sarah Mucmillain, a 50 year old woman witnessed that the Government are forcing woman to work and it was all a lie that all the woman wanted to work, now if they don't work there will be serious punishments that there has never been before.

Women are getting paid £2.15 a week as they are skilled by working as TANK DRIVERS, PLUMBERS, MECHANICS, SHIP BUILDERS, NURSES, AIR RAID WARDENS,

ENGINEERS, FIRE ENGINE DRIVERS AND WORKING IN FARMS.

Women had to wear LEATHER BUTTON JACKETS, BLACK TIGHTS, SKIRTS, SHIRTS AND DUNGEREES, BOOTS AND POUCHES.

No one knows what is coming next but as you can see through out this whole report, the Government won't change their mind quickly.

Terrifying Blitz

Yesterday houses were blown up in London in the first night of the Blitz.On the first day of the Bombing 430 people were killed and 1,600 were badly injured By 350 German bomber's.

When they heard the siren, they all stopped what they were doing and ran into their air raid shelters.

Children flea the country

On the 1 st of October 1942 Nevil Chamberlain the Prime Minister has evacueeated fourhundred children because of the increes rate of bombing .

The Goverment have put up poster to persuade mothers to keep ther children safe in the countryside away from the bombings. the home the children have been sent to definiately safe and good food is available. one mother said`at least my darling is keept safe" another said `at least my darling is treated well".

All children will be keept in the countryside for a long time due to the incress in bombings by germany.We might not have any children in london for a long time but thay should be back in a year.or so once the war if won!

RATIONING AFFECTS EVERYONE

Rationing has been introduced so that everyone has a fair share in the items we need like food and clothes that are increasing hard to get hold of.

In the next few weeks you will recive a rationing book containing coupons so you get the items you need to get like this one on your left.

Some people consider food Rationing is very unfair eggs, butter and meat can be obtained very easily without coupons in rural areas.

By the summer of 1941 greengrocers in most towns are taking there lorries into the contryside direct from growers.

We don't know when the Rationing seasons will stop but if we find out we will let you know.

Britain Bombed

Last night on the 7Th September London was heavily bombed by Germany.

Yesterday morning churches,ports and factories were bombed by Germany.Louise a 14 year old girl witnessed one of the bombings.She said"it was terrifying."The bomb was destructive it destroyed the entire port.

Fire Brigade and medics are arriving at the port to help people who were injured.

Hundreds of people were hurt and only a few people died.
